It’s nothing fancy, just the “Hello World!” app that Apple so kindly put in their developer documentation. I even went above and beyond with a custom icon and some fancier text in the app. Now my only problem is that it’s taking forever (over an hour now) to get a Development Provisioning Profile from Apple.
Update: I finally got a DPP and I’ve installed the app on my iPhone. Now to learn some more about developing for the iPhone in Xcode!

An old friend of mine, Ron, responded to one of my Facebook updates by saying “Are you writing some iPhone apps during this time?”. That’s a damn good question. I’ve been doing a lot of reading on Program/Project Management in hopes of landing a PM job with Microsoft, but so far that hasn’t panned out. I’ve been considering expanding my knowledge base beyond that, but didn’t know what to concentrate on. As an avid iPhone user, I can’t believe that Ron had to point out the obvious to me. Well, after this post, I am going to signup for the iPhone SDK and hopefully have my “Hello World” app written in no time.
Thanks Ron! You seem to be the angel of reason on my shoulder.

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged and normally that would mean that I am extremely busy. But for some reason, I’ve been unemployed since last November and I haven’t made a single post. Well, that’s going to change. Starting tomorrow, I’m going to commit to posting at least 2 blog posts per weekday. Weekend posts may occur, but I am not committing to them.

I have been offline from the twitterverse for a few weeks and I missed everyone’s icons going manga. After a little searching, I found FaceYourManga, the site that has generated many of the manga avatars on Twitter. You can see my first attempt at a manga avatar to the left.
There is also an anti-manga website called StopTheManga that has cropped up to report “offenders”.
Whatever side of the fence your on, I’m sure it’s a fad that will pass in short time.

I’ve decided to change my Twitter handle from ScottMahan to Raskull. I’ve used Raskull (previously Rascal, but too many people started using it as well) as my online gaming handle since the late 80’s and recently decided to start using it on Twitter. If you’re already following me, it won’t affect you. You’ll just see my new handle in your stream.

If you visit the site more than once today, you may notice changes. I am trying out a few stock WordPress Themes to see what I like about them. Looks like I may have to do some coding and make a custom theme. That’s going to be fun. If anybody knows some good sources of 2 or 3 column themes with widgets, let me know.

This is a new record for me, at least in the past several months. Let’s see if I can go for 3 in a row? OMG, I just realized something. This post makes 2 Posts in 1 Day. Wow, I better pace myself.

I finally upgraded my WordPress blog (mostly so I could use the new WordPress iPhone application). Whew, that was painfull. I lost all my categories and had to do some fun MySQL work.
Now that I can update to blog from my iPhone, it is time to start blogging again. Right after I find a good 3-Column theme that supports tag (or I modify this one, Pride, with the new WP 2.6 enhancements). I am also thinking about converting my personal site from iWeb back to WP. I’ll do a little testing here with the WP iPhone app before I tackle that one.
More to come tomorrow!

The only feedback that I’ve been getting is from spammers. I’m going to have to install some kind of comment spam filter soon.
Stay tuned for info regarding how TechGeekBlog will soon relaunch.
